People in Ejima lab
Computational science for people's health
Meet the Team
The Ejima Lab is a growing research facility utilizing computational science to advance infectious disease modeling, unraveling the intricacies of disease dynamics within the host.
Principal Investigator
Keisuke Ejima
The Ejima lab investigates the biological mechanisms of infection and its effects on individual and population health through mathematical modeling and computer simulations. By bridging individual-level viral dynamics with population-level epidemiology, our research aims to accelerate the development of vaccines, drugs, and treatments while offering insights into the underlying mechanisms of infectious diseases.
Research Associate
Yuqian Wang
Sherry joined the lab as a research assistant after finishing her MSc in epidemiology. Her research interests include disease modelling and global public health.
When she is not working in the lab, she enjoys playing tennis and wandering through a city.
PhD Student
Luis Ponce
Luis is a PhD student at the lab. He completed his MSc in global health and is interested in modeling a wide range of infectious diseases, including but not limited to ebola, influenza, COVID-19, mpox, and malaria. Outside of research, he enjoys spending time with other people and exercising.
Undergrad Student
Hoong Kai
Hoong Kai is currently an undergraduate student at NTU. He is passionate about biology and data science, with a keen research interest in mechanistic systems-based approaches to uncover host factors of immunity. As an avid coffee drinker, Hoong Kai also enjoys stargazing and going on nature trails in his free time.
Undergrad Student
Marc
Marc is a fourth year medical student at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. He is passionate about the field of medicine with a keen interest in pursuing surgery in the future. Beyond academics, he finds joy in sports, particularly badminton and football.
